Permanent - full-time, 52 weeks per year

Are you a highly skilled multi-trader who takes pride in proactive maintenance? We are seeking a Trust Estate Officer to join our team. This is a unique role within the Trust, offering a high level of autonomy and the opportunity to work across two distinct campus environments.
Unlike a standard Estate Officer role, you will report directly to the Operations Manager. You will be the "bridge" between our sites, primarily based at St Vincent College, but spending 1–2 days a week supporting the team at Richard Taunton College.
Your primary focus is high-level proactive maintenance. Using our recent Building Condition Surveys as your roadmap, you will be responsible for tackling identified repairs across the Trust—extending the life of our buildings and improving the environment for our students.
Key Responsibilities:
Proactive Repairs: Lead on the "fix-list" generated by Building Condition Surveys, tackling everything from carpentry and plumbing to minor electrical and fabric repairs.
Trust-Wide Support: Provide essential maintenance cover across both St Vincent and Richard Taunton colleges, ensuring high standards are consistent across the Trust.
General Estate Duties: Undertake standard estate officer tasks, including site security, health and safety checks, and reactive maintenance as required.
Project Work: Assist the Operations Manager in coordinating small-scale refurbishment projects and managing external contractors when on-site.
Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for staff, students, and visitors.
About You
The "Pro" Multi-Trader: You have a broad skillset (plumbing, carpentry, painting, etc.) and aren't afraid to get stuck into complex repairs.
Autonomous & Proactive: You don’t need a daily to-do list; you can interpret a condition survey and prioritize your workload effectively.
Mobile: You must have a full UK driving license and be comfortable split-site working between Gosport and Southampton.
Safety Conscious: You understand the importance of RAMS and working safely in a live educational environment.
Why Join Us?
This is a fantastic opportunity for a maintenance professional who enjoys variety and wants to move away from a "static" site role. You will play a pivotal role in the Trust’s operations, working directly to improve our estate.
The successful candidate will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check.
